Part # M1/4TNUT

T-Nut for 1/4"-20 Threaded Stems - Part # M1/4 TNUT

The T-nut (tee nut) is a low-profile nut with prongs (teeth) that digs into the grain of wood to secure it. Provides an easy method to attaching threaded stem casters, glides or bolt to wood.

Installation:

  1. Drill a hole the same size as the T-nut’s barrel.
  2. Push the T-nut in from the back side (prongs toward the wood) and tap it flat.
  3. Alternatively you can use a wrench to tighten a bolt, pulling the t-nut into the wood.

Best practices:

  • Line the prongs with the grain & tap gently to avoid splitting.
  • Don’t over-tighten; that can make the T-nut spin.
  • In soft/crumbly wood, add a bit of wood glue or epoxy for extra hold.
