Composite & resin caster wheels are available in nylon, phenolic, retort & polyolefin (plastic). Unlike polyurethane or rubber treaded wheels, these wheels are manufactured as one solid piece, eliminating common de-treading failures associated with bonded tread designs. These wheels provide resistance to water, oil, grease, chemicals, cleaning solutions & heat (some). Many wheels provide high temperature resistance with the exception of a few wheels. These wheels are non-marking, but are not considered floor protective due to their harder treads. They perform best on smooth hard floors like concrete found in warehouse.

Phenolic resin caster wheels are an alternative to steel wheels offering similar load capacities at a lower cost.
