Soft rubber wheels are economically priced and are recommended for applications that don’t require high capacities or non-marking treads. The rubber treads provide good floor protection, semi-cushioned ride, and quiet rolling. They also work well in outdoor environments and roll well over small debris, rough floors, cracks, and floor joints.

Arrived with surface rust, decent function

One of the casters was delivered with surface rust on it. Not an issue functionally but is not acceptable when buying a new item. The wheels work good for light duty use if you don’t load them close to max capacity and don’t leave them continuously under a heavy load. Careful with putting weight on top of them anywhere besides the stem mount. The top shield protecting the swivel bearings is somewhat thin and flimsy. If bent it will start making metal-on-metal rubbing noise whenever the casters change direction.

I completely understand your concern on the other issues mentioned and wanted to provide a little clarification. These casters are designed to carry weight from the top through the stem mount, so we wouldn’t recommend using them in any other way. The top shield you noted is a dust guard intended to protect the swivel bearings from debris. While it isn’t as thick as the rig itself, we haven’t seen problems with it bending or causing interference under normal use.
